Avoiding Shortcuts…

“I think we should go…that way!”

It seems we all have looked for shortcuts every now and then.  Some good…but then others not so much.  Good shortcuts include more hands, making work light, like folding laundry, grocery shopping or even cooking for a month in advance (I’ll have to remember that one)! lol

However, shortcuts can also be rather negative when we are impatient or think we know better and want to skip the lesson.  Consequently, if we skip the lessons, or have to learn the “hard” way, then our hearts have more of a challenge to change and we continue to think we know it all.

So much for a spiritual shortcut.  We really hinder our growth when we try to make shortcuts around the path God has laid for us.

CONNECT & REFLECT:  Embrace the lessons on the journey.  There are no shortcuts to God…but there is an awesome joy found in the journey!

[ The Narrow and Wide Gates ] “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
